Ceremonial handover of funding approval

On October 21st, the Thuringian minister of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society announceed the funding of the Fraunhofer IZFP research group SigMaSense group by the Free State of Thuringia at a press conference at TU Ilmenau. The ceremonial handover of the funding was received by Prof. Randolf Hanke, executive director of the IZFP and Dr. Florian Römer, head of the SigMaSense group. The group will receive 150,000€ of funding for the rest of 2019 and another 2.4 million € starting in 2021.

Furthermore, Prof. Peter Scharff, principal of TU Ilmenau, announced that a new professorship to intensify SigMaSense’s work in order to reach the assigned research goals will be bugdeted jointly by the university and the Fraunhofer society.
